The imagery kind of reminds me Hendrix's Voodoo Chile and Voodoo Chile (Slight Return), but much darker. Imagine rolling around in a beat up car as Detroit burned to the ground with that coming out of the radio. I can see why it was probably suppressed by a lot of programmers at radio stations.
