To the usual funk, jazz, blues, bluegrass, early rock n roll…
Tonite though, Niteliters, Cymande, Magic Sam, JJ Cale, (some others) and then…

Grand Funk, self tilted…
This came from my dad’s collection that I have now…and never gave it a proper listening to, why??? I don’t know, but Justin had been talking about it lately and I put it on, and….
it pretty much blows the other Ann Arbor/Detroit bands out of the water…
(at least it seems like it at the time)

I just got home with this record and am playing it LOUD! It just goes to show that even Detroit bands that you thought should suck have some good/great records. Seger is another good example of this phenomenon. It’s also interesting how hard some of them are to find even in Southeast Michigan.

Yeah, it blew my mind when I listened to it the first time. Seems like that’s the case for everybody.
