Those thievin’ pirates!
Big story in the news right now is the piracy situation in Somalia. The latest score is a Saudi oil ship with $100,000 million of cude on board. The situation is escalating, with lawless Somalia, other East African countries and their evergrowing band of pirates taking over the seas off the East African and Arabian coasts. Pirates in the region now control 17 vessels with 339 crew members hostage.
Of course, this is a bad situation for the world but I just couldn’t help walking around the house lately singing the song, Pirates, by the Hot Hot Hot original Soca King Arrow. Buster Poindexter turned Hot Hot Hot into the world’s most popular wedding song (who can resist those fun dance trains?), but it was Arrow’s song.
On that same album, he had an equally catchy song about Pirates. He also sports an incredibly sweet Philadelphia Phillies batting helmet hat on the cover (where can I get one of those?).

I guess piracy’s never really gone away completely, but it’s been several hundred years since it’s been this prevalent in the media. It almost seems funny, but it wouldn’t be so funny to be stuck on a boat with an AK waived in your face for an indefinite period of time. I had no idea that Hot Hot Hot was a cover!

YEAH dude, an AK in the face would suck, no matter how great the weather was outside on that boat! And Hot Hot Hot was a BIG TIME cover, and Arrow’s version was MUCH sweeter, and I should really post it to prove it.
