The Nite-Liters were helped formed by legendary funk-soul producer Harvey Fuqua. They later morphed into The New Birth. But as the Nite-Liters, they put out 5 albums on RCA in the early 70s (my favorite time period for funk) that are big-band funk materpieces.
I have their first one in addition to this one, A-Nal-Y-Sis - I think Justin has the second. The first (self titled) is more raw and urban, where Analysis is more polished and has a Latin flair. It’s fantastic stuff , and I don’t think you can wrong with any of their records. Check out a few clips from two random songs from the B side - every song is awesome on both albums I have. Samples and drum breaks galore, full, rich, and just plain funky.
