Area Code 615 was a super session group out of Nashville, blending Bluegrass, Country, and Southern Rock with elements of Afro-funk, Celtic, Psych, and Jazz-Fusion. Their LP, Trip In The Country, is highly recommended, and can be had for a reasonable price. We came across a well-played VG copy and a still-sealed copy; I took home the VG copy and we sold the still-sealed for less than 30 bucks. Both records came out of a collection from a professional steel guitar player, who played and toured with Little Jimmy Dickens. He had all the Little Jimmy Dickens records, all sealed, along with about 1,000 or so other cool old country, bluegrass, and rock LPs. This record I took home was an instant favorite upon first playing, but regulated to the record-shelf and forgotten until today, when even Ella was racing and spinning across the black and white tiles in the basement when I threw it on. Then I tried it with headphones tonight and remembered why I was so excited when I first listened to it. Sample audio below is my random stroll thru side 1.
